Hello and welcome to another tutorial! Today we're going to create this fabulous rustic sunflower farm home decor. If you're ready let's dive in!! Please note that included in this post are Amazon Affiliate links and I do earn from qualifying purchases.
Supplies Needed:
Wood Block- The one I used is a 5x5. I got mine at the thrift store, but you can go to any Home Depot or Lowes, and they will cut it for you.
Sunflower Printable- The link to the one I designed is here https://www.canva.com/design/DAGFBY4Omcc/nNa3WCqmFHoUAS2Yon7zRA/edit?utm_content=DAGFBY4Omcc&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton
White and Black Acrylic Paint- I use chalk paint, but any acrylic craft paint will do. https://amzn.to/3KilpRN
Tissue Paper
Mod Podge- https://amzn.to/3yCY3DL
Paint Brushes
Instructions:
First thing that I like to do with any wood project is to sand the wood piece on all sides. This usually helps to smooth out your surface to ensure the paint adheres well.
After sanding and brushing away any debris, paint your wood block on all sides with your white paint.
While that dries refer to the post here to print out your sunflower design "Creative Crafting: How to Successfully Print on Tissue Paper for Your Projects" (joyfulprints22.wixsite.com)
Next you want to use the decoupage method linked here to apply your design. "Step-By-Step Guide: How to Master the Art of Decoupage for Stunning Home Decor" (joyfulprints22.wixsite.com)
Let the project completely dry and then using your black paint apply a very light dry brushing over the edges and across the entire project to give it the rustic look. Make sure to only go in one direction and to have very little paint on your brush.
And there you have it...you've created your sunflower market decor!
I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you on the next one!
