Hello there and welcome or welcome back!! Today I'm going to "show" you how to create this adorable ladder wall hanging for your home decor. Keep in mind you can paint this any color you wish or even stain it and you can add any word or words to it that you wish. I used the word "CREATE" because I have hung this in my craft room. Let's get crafty!
Supplies needed:
5- 1 gallon paint stir sticks- you can buy them at any hardware store and even Walmart and they're very inexpensive
Wood Letters- Again, any word or words you want
Paint or Stain
Wood glue or wood hot glue sticks
Instructions:
First you want to assemble your ladder. I like to assemble the ladder before painting it because if you're using hot glue like I did sometimes it doesn't adhere well to paint.
Take your 3 sticks that are going to be your rungs of your ladder and cut them down. I usually start by cutting off the handle that's on the sticks and then if I feel they need cut more I do so.
Lay your 2 sides pieces on your table and using a ruler space them approximately 5 inches apart. Now take your rung pieces and adhere them to your side pieces spacing them evenly apart. I don't cut the handles off the 2 side pieces because I like to use them as a guide as to where to place my first rung. Once you have all the rungs glued in place turn your ladder over and paint (or stain) the entire thing front and back. Set it aside to dry.
Next, you're going to want to paint your letters. As you can see from my photo, I chose to paint my letters all different, but you paint yours as you like. I will give you a little trick that I use to make it easier to paint letters. What I do is I cut off a strip of painters' tape or you can use masking or any tape that is long enough to fit all my letters. Stick your letters to the tape and that will hold them still while you paint.
Finally attach your letters to your ladder using your wood glue or wood hot glue. You can place them as I did on different rungs or any way you please!
And that's all there is! Simply add a hanger and hang it for all to enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I hope to see you again real soon! Happy Crafting!
