"DIY Bee Jar Decoupage Craft: Easy Tutorial for Beautiful Home Decor"

Writer's picture: Tara JoyTara Joy

Good morning and welcome or welcome back!! Sorry I've been MIA for a while, but I've had a ton of family things going on lately but I'm here now and I'm going to "show" you how to create this adorable bee themed honey jar. Let's get crafty!!!

Supplies Needed:

A jar- You can use a mason jar or any jar you have on hand. I actually used a spaghetti sauce jar for this.

White Chalk Paint- My favorite chalk paint is Waverly brand

Bee Printable- I no longer have the one I used here saved on my computer but you can take any picture off of google

Tissue Paper- The kind you use for gifts not to blow your nose lol

Matte Mod Podge- You can buy this at any craft store and even Walmart

Jute Twine or any ribbon for the bow

Instructions:

First thing you want to do, of course, is paint your jar with the chalk paint. I use a stencil sponge brush to do the first coat whenever I'm painting on glass because it gives better coverage. Simply dip your sponge brush in the paint and "pounce" up and down to apply the paint to the jar.

Next, you're going to print your picture on tissue paper. You can reference this post here on how to do so. "Creative Crafting: How to Successfully Print on Tissue Paper for Your Projects" (joyfulprints22.wixsite.com)

Once you have printed your desired picture out cut it out and apply the picture only (discard of all the other layers. You should only have one layer that has the picture on it.) Apply it to your jar using the decoupage method. If you are unfamiliar with decoupage, you can view how to do it here "Step-By-Step Guide: How to Master the Art of Decoupage for Stunning Home Decor" (joyfulprints22.wixsite.com)

Finally attach your bow and you have created a stunning decorative jar for your home!

I painted the lid with a steel gray color to make the appearance of galanized metal however you can also paint the lid white and apply a decoupage picture to it as well.
