Hello and welcome or welcome back!! Today we are going to talk about my most used website for making all my creations!
Canva is your one stop shop to create AMAZING graphics for every creation. First, you have the choice of using Canva's Pro version or just staying with the free version. I have the Pro version because I utilize the website a lot in my daily routine, however, you can still get FABULOUS graphics and such using their free version!
Now, let's dig a little deeper into the different sections in Canva....
Starting on the right-hand side of the screen you will see the "Create A Design" button, this is where all the magic begins! Once you click on that button it will take you to a drop down where you can choose what you wish to design. You can search in the search bar for what you're creating (ex. Facebook post) or you can choose to make a custom size design. That button is located at the bottom of the drop-down box and once you click on that, you can choose the size desired by either pixels, inches, millimeters, or centimeters. Then simply click on create new design and it will take you to your designer board.
Once inside the design studio, you will notice options on the left side of your screen that you can choose from to create your design. I'm only going to cover the sections that I use the most, but if you have questions about the other sections please reach out and I will try to help.
Design: This is where you will find already designed templates. Simply search in the search bar for what you're designing (ex. T-shirt) and all the templates will generate. ***One VERY important thing to keep in mind when using all sections of Canva is that the items with a crown in the lower corner are for Pro users only.
2. Elements: This is the section that I use the absolute most. This is where you will find every graphic, picture, and mockup that you can imagine. Simply type in the search bar what you're looking for (ex. pumpkins) and choose which graphic you wish to use.
3. Uploads: This section is where you can upload any graphics that you may have saved on your computer from other websites. Simply click on Upload Files and select your graphic to upload.
4. Text: This section is where you can add text to your design. You can choose what type of font you wish to use by clicking on Heading, Subheading, or Body Text. Once you decide on that, type in your text and then you can change the font style, color, or size with the buttons at the top of the whiteboard.
Those are all the sections that I use the most so let's get into how to create.
Once you have selected your design you click on the graphic and it will automatically be added to your whiteboard. Add any text or other elements that you wish to use and resize your design as needed. Once you are finished creating, to save it to your computer, simply click on Share at the top right-hand corner click on Download then choose your file type, then click on Download again at the bottom and VIOLA! your graphic will be downloaded to your computer.
