Good morning and welcome or welcome back!! It's that time of the year again for sun, fun, and fireworks! Memorial Day has just passed, and Independence Day is right around the corner so of course I've been working on some patriotic item! Today I'm going to "show" you how to create these fabulous patriotic bottle vases. Let's get crafty!!

Supplies Needed:

Bottles- I used these ones because I drink this type of tea, but you can use any type of bottles that you may have. Gold Peak Real Brewed Tea Cane Sugar Sweet, Bottled Tea Drink, 16.9 fl oz, 6 Bottles - Walmart.com

Paint- Red, White, and Blue of course!

Stencil Sponges- I got these from DT Jot Paint Sponge Dabbers, 3-ct. Packs | Dollar Tree

Wide Ribbon of your choice- I got mine from DT because I like the burlap look but as always you can get any kind you like.

Cardboard- I just used an old box that I had.

Patriotic Design of your choice.

Mod Podge and Hot Glue

Tissue Paper

Florals of your choice.

Small rocks or something that will add weight to the bottom of your bottles.

Dowel Rods

Instructions:

First you want to paint your bottles. Using acrylic paint and a stencil sponge apply the first coat of paint by pouncing up and down. This will get a great coverage. I often use this method when painting plastic or glass. Once dried apply a second coat if needed.

While waiting for your paint to completely dry start preparing your stars. Take your cardboard and draw out 3 stars about 5 inches in size. If you can freehand a star you go girl, but I actually printed out a star shape from the internet and traced it on to my carboard. Of course, the next step is to cut out your stars and paint each one white. I applied 2 coats on both front and back. You want to paint both sides because you will see them both and you want your project to look finished.

After choosing your patriotic designs I will link mine here if you want to use them you are going to apply each design to the stars using the printing on tissue paper and the decoupage method I have posted on this website. https://www.canva.com/design/DAGHwORMNeQ/laZ_YjqeoTW4iNychaObDQ/edit?utm_content=DAGHwORMNeQ&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton

Once everything is dry take your hot glue and attach the stars to the dowel rods.

Next you are going to cut off a piece of your wide ribbon long enough to wrap around the bottle and attach it with hot glue.

Add your small rocks to the bottom of each bottle to make sure your bottles will not tip over when adding the stars and florals. You can buy these small rocks in the floral department of any craft store. I've even found them at Walmart and DT.

Wrap some jute twine around the top of the bottles and attach with hot glue then take a piece of jute twine and tie it around the jute twine you wrapped around the top of the bottle. Tie it as though you are tying your shoes.

Add your stars and florals to the bottles and now you have a cute centerpiece for your summer festivities!

I hope you will draw some inspiration from this tutorial, and I'll see you on the next one!
